چکیده

Background: E. coli is one of the most important zoonotic pathogen and also an indicator faecal contamination food water. There paucity data regarding level raw meat characterization pathogenic from slaughtered cattle chicken in un-organized sector Mizoram, India. Methods: Raw samples traditionally were collected Aizawl, Kolasib Champhai districts Mizoram analyzed for count (ECC), serotypes virulence genes STEC ETEC. Result: A proportion 65.55 per cent beef 58.89 had unacceptable ECC. The predominant O118 (13.33%) O8 (13.89%) chicken. Both (8.00% 6.94%) ETEC (12.00% 26.38%) pathotypes detected chicken, respectively. Detection serotype O121 O26 O111 both along with indicated highly strains.

Comparative Genomics and Characterization of Hybrid Shigatoxigenic and Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (STEC/ETEC) Strains

BACKGROUND Shigatoxigenic Escherichia coli (STEC) and enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) cause serious foodborne infections in humans. These two pathogroups are defined based on the pathogroup-associated virulence genes: stx encoding Shiga toxin (Stx) for STEC and elt encoding heat-labile and/or est encoding heat-stable enterotoxin (ST) for ETEC. The study investigated the genomics of STEC/ETEC hyb...

Frequency of selected virulence-associated genes in intestinal and extra-intestinal Escherichia coli isolates from chicken

Background: Although Escherichia coli (E. coli)is a part of intestinal normal microflora of warm-blooded animals, includingpoultry, outbreaks occur in poultry raised below standard sanitation and duringthe course of respiratory or immunosuppressive diseases. Avian pathogenic E.coli (APEC) harbors several genes associated with virulence andpathogenicity. APEC strains are responsible for some dis...

Serotypes of Non-O157 Shigatoxigenic Escherichia coli (STEC)

Non-O157 STEC has been shown to have a diverse ecological distribution among food-animals. It has been associated with both outbreaks and individual cases of severe illness. This group of the organisms is now considered as a major contributor to human disease. The clinical description of the diseases caused by these organisms is reviewed. The host specificity of these pathogens is described and...

Serotypes, virulence profiles and stx subtypes of Shigatoxigenic Escherichia coli isolated from chicken derived products.

Shigatoxigenic Escherichia coli (STEC) is a foodborne pathogen that causes hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) and the consumption of chicken products has been related to some HUS cases. We performed a non-selective isolation and characterization of STEC strains from retail chicken products. STEC isolates were characterized according to the presence of stx1, stx2, eae, saa and ehxA; stx subtypes an...

Detection and Phylogenetic Characterization of Virulence Genes of Escherichia coli Associated with Canine Urinary Tract Infections in India

BACKGROUND: Escherichia coli (E.coli) is one of the most common and important causative bacterium of urinary tract infections (UTIs) in both dogs and humans. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to identify virulence genes and a phylogenetic group of E. coli isolated from the urine of dogs suffering from UTIs. METHODS: <em...
